Chennai Express can be compared with a chewing gum, Initially interesting, but as the movie progress it becomes more and more boring, and more and more illogical. Except few hilarious scenes, the movie has nothing to offer. The climax of the movie which is just like a typical irritating climax of bollywood romantic films, where the hero fights against all odds just to save the herione. I wonder how just a single person who is nothing in front of those vivid bodybuilders with whom he fights, gets such powers. A very disastrous kind story. Poorly filmed and illogicaly plotted.

A very well thought, crafted & marketed product, has everything what you need in a hit formula movie- a Superstar, a super model, a super hit music and a block buster director! Simple storyline- a guy in search of adventure meets the love of his life which unfolds into rib-tickling events from crazy looking characters (called bodyguard/kidnappers) to stunning looking visuals (Duddhara captured like nobody would have thought about it!). Rahul (Shahrukh Khan) grandson of a mithai wala on his way to immerse his grandfather’s (biggest fan Sachin Tendulkar can get..) ashes into Rameshwaram (actually plan & wish was to immerse in Goa and have a nice holiday trip with his friends) gets into Chennai Express, where he helps Deepika (Meenama) full DDLJ style) to get into the train, actually that is not where the similarity with DDLJ ends.. it goes till end ! It’s Deepika who stuns everyone with in-depth understanding of character & lighting up the screen every time she delivery a “heavy Tamil accented” dialogues. A sure award winning performance…. Don’t underestimate the power of SRK- A superstar which he is, gives a jolt to his career after “a Yash Chopra romantic images (which everyone was tired of seeing) to a fresh timing based comic character (look out for his faces he makes when people all around him speaks in Tamil & his takes of words- “yeh meri ma ke bare mein kya bola..?) A big congratulation to Rohit Shetty & his team (casting, screen play, dialogue, editing, cinematography, production…) for once again serving out a fresh visuals combining beauty of South of India to re-creating South of India (once again in Wai…) Don’t forget to buy ticket for this train… every penny is worth the ride!

I couldn't but regret more than watching such a third rate movie by the Badshah of Bollywood. Sincerely speaking, this is one of those movies that I wish I can get rid of from my brain completely. Well, before I opt for a brian surgery, here is what this movie about - typical north Indian BS about South Indians - useless songs, jokes that either are recycled from a lot of movies or fall horribly flat and fights which prove once again that SRK is a super human being living in disguise. First of all, Deepika looks nothing like a tamil chick with her famished figure and her broken Tamil, although she managed to roll her R's like a typical Tamilian. I was constantly wondering how this chick could speak fluent enough English or Hindi but still cannot utter a single word in Tamil correctly, and to think that I am not even a Tamilian! Satyaraj was a disappointment. Such a talented actor being used as s side kick? Why does he even stop Deepika from going to SRK or doesn't stop the villan (Nikitan Dheer) from turning SRK into human pulp EVEN after we can clearly see that Satyaraj is clearly impressed by this ordinary man! At one point, between the point where SRK and Deepika freshly met and finally fell deeply in love, they both start conversing in hindi songs in order to ensure the villains don't understand and the main villain actually starts singing? WTF? Who came up with this cheap thrill? Interestingly the villain is also another Tamilian who cannot mouth his Tamil words lol! If one goes by this movie, all Tamilians are fat, black, illiterate and ready with swords to fight at the drop of a hat. I have no clue which country they are living in though. And then, THANGA BALI? Rohit Shetty, you're a Southie, YOU COULDN'T COME UP WITH A TAMIL NAME? What is that name? Bali means slaughter. It is quite impossible to image any parents wanting to name their son that, irrespective of how much they might like killing people! Despite all this, the movie could've been tolerable, had there been some bloody nice songs. There is not a single song that is worth remembering or makes us hum. Then there is this "lungi" dance. WTF is that? Some brainless git comes up with a promotional tactic of roaping in Rajini to attract viewers? Whats happening to our movies? I fully subscribe to what Jaya Bachchan said once "Earlier, movies used to sell due to their content, now they sell because of their star cast." Had this movie been done by someone else other than SRK, it would be swept clean.

You'll like this movie in few scene and in few scenes which were supposed to be funny you'll ask a person sitting next to you " Bhai Hasi nahi aa Rahi Gudgudi karega please?" Its so silly movie. And the fight scenes directed by our beloved Rohit shetty who is trying to get all south indian stunts in bollywood movies. And its not at all close to what is natural . Mr. shetty please stop playing with your small cars and creating stunts like this which are not at all real. Good attempt by Deepika Padukone but at times you'll feel she tried lot to get that accent but something went wrong . And Shahrukh's over acting was not hilarious at times and few dialogues which were copied from movie he might have done before were not good at all . So for me this movie is not that cool to go to a theater to watch
