“Pompeii has a messy screenplay with predictable plotting. Although, it has some good action, the over-the-top acting and cheesy dialogues kill the buzz. ”

Hoiw bad can a action film in 3D get? May be not worse than Pompeii. Decidedly made to milk the 3D craze that has gripped films of late, Pompeii is neither a decent story nor a decent tecnical marvel that it ought to be.

Set in early civilization, there is a volcano that is erupting, while a city settled next to it is in turmoil. In a Day after tomorrow meets Troy kind of a set up, we are thrown at with one fire ball after another in 3D till the eyes cant take it anymore and the brain just wants to jump out and kill itself.

There are so many things that are sad in the film. Lack of vision and ambition for one that completely lets down what could have been an interesting premise if executed well. There is an apology of a love story that is attempted by some seriously ameteurish actors who cannot for the love of god conjure up an emotion. Needless to say much of the acting is doneby oiled torsos and long legs. To overcompensate this is the utterly exasperating graphics. It is as if someone told the makers that the very and only piint of 3D is to throw things left right and centre into the audiences wearing them glasses.

One can think of a Games of Thrones that did pretty much the same genre but with such class and panache on the small screen. Pompeii on the other hand is just a disastrous waste of time and money. Stay clear if you fear for the health of your eyes.
