I don’t take sides when it comes to DC and Marvel. But their movies never fail to disappoint me. Wonder Woman was one such movie. I chose it randomly, I hadn’t even watched the trailer and I`m glad I watched the movie. It was one of those movies where you feel girl power pulsing through your veins and feel like shouting, “you go girl!” every now and then.
This movie had so much power. And by that I mean, fire power and woman power. Gal Gadot did such great justice to the role. I am a fan of the Fast and Furious franchise and though she played a role with least dialogues, she still added value to the team. I believe Wonder Woman was a great project for her.
The movie revolves around the Amazonian warrior,Diana, who decided to go to war after learning about the terror the world is facing, from a pilot Steve Trevor who she saved from a plane crash. Her mother is reluctant to let her go at first but Diana says, “Who will I be if I stay?”
With Wonder Woman on their side, Steve puts together a team to fight against Dr.Poison to stop their attempts from killing millions of people and engaging in a never ending war. The action scenes are the reason why this movie is my favorite. Taking away high heels and giggles in exchange for a sword and a shield gives women a new look. Not that rom-coms are bad, but this is such a nice change.
Fun fact : Gal Gadot preferred doing her stunt scenes on her own with no double.
Lastly, the ending of the movie didn’t really satisfy me. I thought it could be better. I don’t know how the original story goes so I cannot really say, but there was more drama than required towards the end. It could’ve been better.
