Beauty Pageants have been something every country covets. This is a celebration of not just beautiful faces, but also of beautiful minds that shows promise. Beauty pageants, especially Miss India, have been held right from 1947 when India got its Independence. In fact, the International Beauty Pageant, Miss World, started in 1951 while Miss Universe started from the year 1952.From the very beginning of Miss World contests, it was the American and European countries that maintained a strong foothold. But that was broken in 14 years when Reita Faria from India went to represent the country in the International Pageant and became not just the first Indian but the first Asian to win a title- that of Miss World.Needless to say, thanks to the win, Miss World became something that the nation knew. Miss Universe was still not got the popularity! In fact, for many International Beauty pageants only meant Miss World.India did face a hiatus, but was back with a bang in 1994! India had two of the most promising contenders for Miss World and Miss Universe. Many had opined that Aishwarya Rai was one of the most beautiful women ever seen. She became the blue-eyed girl. In fact, the competition between her and the other contender, Sushmita Sen, was so neck to neck that they tied in the finals. The judges decided to crown Sushmita as Miss India Universe while settling Aishwarya for Miss India World.source- filmibeatThis started the debate of which beauty pageant is more prestigious- Miss Universe or Miss World! While many opined that Miss Universe would definitely be bigger, many also felt that Miss World would be more prestigious since it is oldest. Both Aishwarya and Sushmita won their respective contests, the debate continued.source- mangalore todayIn India, we have only two Miss Universes- Sushmita Sen and Lara Dutta; and six Miss World winners, Manushi Chhillar being the latest addition. While Miss World and Miss Universe are two very different competitions, it is definitely a belief that Miss World is more successful. In 1994, many claimed that Aishwarya was made Miss India World because it was considered more prestigious. In fact, if we look at stats now, those crowned Miss World are definitely having a better run in the industry than their Miss Universe counterparts!source- India TVFor example, Aishwarya is more successful that Sushmita in Bollywood, as is Priyanka Chopra compared to Lara Dutta. Even Reita Faria made a difference by choosing to pursue her medical degree and becoming a doctor. But then again both Yukta Mookhey and Diana Hayden failed to make an impact in Bollywood. In conclusion, we must say that whatever your opinion may be, we can never compare a Miss World with a Miss Universe. The two are very different competitions and winning any of them requires rigorous training and mettle!

It has been proved that Bollywood does influence real lives. Whether it is a new hairstyle by a popular celebrity or a quote used by a superstar, the Indians have always welcomed such trends with hands wide opened. This practice has escalated to a whole new level.Recently, a woman filed a complaint at a Police Station against her spouse after having a spat with him. The couple was later asked to attend a counseling session. During this counseling session, in order to win back his wife’s heart, the husband sang a song. The song was ‘Jeena Jeena’ from the movie Badlapur which was sang by Atif Aslam. The wife was on the verge of filing a divorce in front of the marriage counselors, but the love song magically mended the broken bond.In the end the complaint filed by the woman was withdrawn and the song video of the husband spread on the social media spread like wildfire. Even, Badlapur star Varun Dhawan took to his social media account to share his reaction on watching this video. His post read as, “Who says there’s no sing song in real life. This is beautiful and #jeenajeena is one for my favourite songs”.For latest movie reviews, ratings and trailers, download theDesimartini App.Source:pbs.twimg.com

We are hearing about Dabangg 3 for quite a long time now. But recently Arbaaz Khan announced that the movie will go on floors by mid next year and is expected to release in early 2019. However, unlike the second part, which was directed by Arbaaz, the third part will not be helmed by him.It is being reported that Arbaaz has taken a back seat from directing due the issues in his personal life. Now Prabhudeva has stepped into his shoes. When asked why he decided to back out from directing Dabangg3, Arbaaz said, “I wanted the franchise to have a fresh feel to it. I did it with ‘Dabangg 2’. At this point I felt, a lot of things were happening in my life (referring to his separation from wife Malaika Arora), and that time there was only discussion about ‘Dabangg 2’. Directing, producing and acting is a big responsibility. You need to be in good state of mind and not have things going on at the back of your mind. I felt it was not the right time to (direct) do it, maybe later I will do it.”When asked whether his personal life has affected his professional life, the Daraar actor said, “No. Not really. When you are making a film of that magnitude, you need to be focused and interested and in a (good) state of mind. I was focusing on other aspect of my life, I felt direction could take a back seat.” However, the 50-year-old regrets of not directing the third part in the franchise. He hopes to direct if something else comes up in future.Dabangg 3, which will be a prequel, will revolve around how Salman’s character was born, brought up and how he became Chulbul Pandey. For latest movie reviews, ratings and trailers, download theDesimartini App.Source:static.dnaindia.com
