Variety has reported that Leonardo DiCaprio has finally been roped in to star in Quentin Tarantino’s Charles Manson movie. The duo has previously worked together in ‘Django Unchained’ which came out in 2012. The upcoming Manson project will be DiCaprio’s first film after 2016s ‘The Revenant’.
The director also wants to cast Tom Cruise for the flick while Margot Robbie is being considered for the role of Sharon Tate. Some sources have also shared that Tarantino has shown interest in casting Al Pacino in the film as well. If these castings follow through, this will be one star studded epic movie. The project will be distributed by Sony who was one of the several studios that bid for the rights.
Tarantino has also stated that the film is not a biopic but an ensemble film. With details about the project being kept under the wraps, what’s known is that it is set in 1969 when the Manson family murders took place. With a release date of August 9, 2019, the project will go against Disney’s ‘Artemis Fowl’.
