TV star Kapil Sharma, who has been off the small screen for some time now, is all set to be back soon. Sony Entertainment Television has shared a small teaser announcing the comeback of one of TV’s most-loved comedians. However, the details of the show are yet to be unveiled.
In the small video, we see Kapil trying to hire an auto-rickshaw but the driver snubs him off reminding the actor-comedian that he is yet to pay his dues. When Kapil says he will soon pay off all dues, the driver makes a snide remark and says, “Kaha se doge, kaam dhandha to hai nahi tumhare paas?”
Sharing the teaser, Kapil tweeted, “Here is the first teaser of our new show on @SonyTV need ur best wishes.”
Sony, the channel that aired The Kapil Sharma Show till last year, announced in August 2017 that it was a “short break” for Kapil and his show. An official spokesperson from the channel had said then that since Kapil had been under the weather, they had “mutually agreed to take a short break”, and that they would start shooting again once he recovers completely. The announcement came after months of rumours that Kapil’s alcoholism was taking a toll on his career. It was said that he cancelled shoots with many Bollywood actors.
Kapil also had his second Bollywood release Firangi in November and he wanted to spend time on the promotions. The film failed at the box office.
Nonetheless, Kapil, who has started shooting for the comeback of his TV show, is optimistic. “I feel very nice that people love me so much. I wanted to come on TV, and not even dreamt of being in films. Now, I have done both...I feel very nice and hope this love keep pouring and I keep on doing the good work,” he told IANS.
