The first half of 2018 has been a great year for Bollywood so far. While there have been a few films that failed to make an impact and mint money at the box-office, most of the films have turned out to be hits. In fact, the most number of 100 crores films in a period of six months has been registered in 2018.
Needless to say, there have been some breakthrough performances this year. While we had been gushing about the lead performers, the supporting stars have also proved to take the game a notch higher. There are so many of the supporting actors who gave a stupendous performance.
Here are the 10 best performances in a supporting role this year:
- 1/10
Vicky Kaushal- Sanju
Vicky played the role of Kamli, Sanju's best friend in the film. Even though the film had Ranbir Kapoor and Paresh Rawal in their top form, Vicky Kaushal stole the show!
- 2/10
Geetanjali Rao- October
The theatre actress played the character of Shiuli's mother in the film. She was effortless as the mother who was torn by her daughter's accident.
- 3/10
Jim Sarbh- Padmaavat
Jim played the role of the servant to Ranveer's Khilji. Even though the role required him to have certain mannerisms and tone, he nailed every bit of it.
- 4/10
Jimit Trivedi- 102 Not Out
When there are stalwarts like Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor in the frame, it is pretty difficult to bring out a great performance. Jimit Trivedi managed it and how!
- 5/10
Jaideep Ahlawat- Raazi
Playing Sehmat's trainer, Jaideep Ahlawat was undoubtedly one of the best actors in Raazi.
- 6/10
Ravi Kishan- Mukkabaaz
The Bhojpuri actor created a great impact with his dialogue delivery!
- 7/10
Shridhar Dubey- Mukkabaaz
Playing the friend of the lead, Shridhar was impeccable in Mukkabaaz.
- 8/10
Pushpa Joshi- Raid
At 82, Pushpa Jain managed perfectly to be spontaneous in her debut film itself!
- 9/10
Rajat Kapoor- Pari
While the performances in the film were one of the strongest points, we could not get over Rajat Kapoor's performance of the dark man in Pari.
- 10/10
Special Mention: Anil Kapoor- Race 3
Anil Kapoor taught us all how to be a good actor in a really bad film and he deserves applauds for that at least!
