Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is one of the most successful film models of all time. Numerous comic book characters have their own franchises which have earned billions of dollars collectively and we have seen these characters coming together in The Avengers which is a franchise of its own. All the events of other films are intricately woven with the plot and the movies smartly incorporate events of other films from the MCU.
A job as a Marvel superhero not only brings in money but also a loyal fanbase.
