Hindi movie ‘Padman’ is making waves across the country with its strong message. The movie has been received well by the audience and has been raking in good business at the box-office. Recently, the real ‘Padman’ Arunachalam Muruganantham, who is the inventor of the low-cost sanitary pad-making machine, got chatty regarding his motive behind the idea of making a movie.
On being asked about whether he ever had plans to make a movie on sanitary napkins, he said, “I had been getting queries from regional filmmakers to do a movie based on my work. But I did not want my work and mission to create awareness on menstrual hygiene to be restricted to only a part of the country.
He further added, “In fact, I wanted to do the movie in Hollywood. But I realised that it would take at least a decade to become a reality. So, I went ahead with a movie in Hindi”. Arunachalam also mentioned that he would love to see Dhanush portraying his character in the Kollywood remake of the movie.
