Verdict - Interesting concept, shoddy execution

Srikanth's Nambiyaar has got an interesting concept as the protagonist gives a form to his own id. We have seen similar thing in split personality films like Fight Club but Nambiyaar is unique because it gives an image to our own conflict thoughts, here Santhanam plays Srikanth's id (No, this is is not a spoiler as the director tells us within ten minutes).

However, this out-of-the-box concept demands a captivating screenplay, which wasn't present in the film. Ganeshaa, the debut director of the film seems to have though that comedies here and there are more than enough for audiences to get entertained but we need a convincing climax too!

The film is only filled with comedies, few evokes good laughter but many jokes are only on the audiences, which is the biggest problem of Nambiyaar. Yes, Santhanam was interesting in the beginning but slowly his character only becomes a huge villain both for Srikanth and audiences.

May be, an efficient director can buy the remake rights of Nambiyaar and present in with an engaging screenplay so that audiences can watch it without any second thought. But now, watch the film only at your own risk!
