Back in 2013, when Fukrey released, nobody could have thought that it would get such humungous response. But thanks to a strong plot and some superlative performance, the film managed to become the sleeper hit of the year and somewhat compelled the makers to come up with its second part too!

Fukrey Returns is very much like its predecessor, in the sense that the film has kept alive the comedy and the humour is the most spontaneous and natural way possible and that the plot and the performances are just as strong. The film begins with a brief flashback of part 1 (in the best way possible). The Fukrey boys had been enjoying the best time of their lives, but now that Bholi Punjaban has managed to get out of jail, would they still be able to enjoy their lives?

The plot is once again very similar to the first installment. The Fukra boys depend mainly on Choocha's ability to dream and Huney's gift to decode it, but this time he also sees premonitions! With all the Deja Cho going around, would the Fukreys be able to handle Bholi and more importantly, the corrupt politician who can stoop to any level to become the CM?

Well, the film evokes genuine moments of comedy. You do not have the slapstick comedies that will tickle you to make you laugh. Right from the dialogues to the body language of the actors, everything will crack you up! But the film is not just about comedy, it has a lot of undercurrents in it. Right from issues like corruption and political hypocrisy to issues like animal poaching, organ trafficking to chit funds, everything has been touched upon in the film. The comic timings and the humour make all these perfectly digestible in the most entertaining way possible! But the situations and the circumstances are so similar that by the end, you would definitely know what is going to happen. I just could not believe how the film fell into the same line as its first part, even though it had a more promising premise and beginning.

The performances in the film are the show stealer. While the entire cast, especially Richa Chadha, Pulkit Samrat, Manjot Singh and Pankaj Tripathi. Ali Fazal has almost negligible screen presence, thanks to his poorly written character. Instead, Panditji (Tripathi) was far more round as a character and was more engaging. But the show stealer definitely was Varun Sharma, who will just crack you up with his straight-faced delivery of some of the most hilarious dialogues.

The other factor in the film that proved to be brilliant was the cinematography. It captures the quintessential Delhi mohalla and the culture. The music was ok, with Ambarsariya tune playing so many times in the background.

Watch the film for some genuinely comic moments and for Varun Sharma's performance. The way too similar situations and circumstances in the film might make you a little disappointed, but cannot be reason enough to miss the film.
