Two couples, one aunty and I were the only audience in the theatre. Aunty and I had come to watch the film and the couples for. ahem ahem. Thus began the torture called Life Xpress.

Life Xpress is about a married couple played by Kiran Janjani & Rituparna Sengupta. They want to have a baby but the pace of the city and their career become roadblocks in completing their family. How they deal with this and what solution they find is what this film is all about.

Now, the director had an interesting urban story to tell, dealing with issues most urban couples face but what he makes is an unbearable two hour film with a screenplay so dull and tedious that it felt like I spent an eternity in the theatre. Upar se, the two lead actors. Kiran Janjani is such a bad actor that he actually made me laugh every time he opened his mouth to speak. To help him do that were gems of dialogues. In one scene he gets to know that he is going to be a father. This is what he tells his friend in his office My wife is pregnant. Can you believe it? And then there is Rituparna
Sengupta. Someone should just ban her from speaking her lines in English. Even after doing more than 30 films she cant act. I am amazed as to why people still sign her. The only redeemable factors are Divya Dutta & Yashpal Sharma but by the time they come on screen the damage is already done. And when the movie shifted to the village it felt like I was watching a different film altogether. The conflict which should have come 15 minutes into the film arrives around an hour late.

Final few words: This film does not impress or express. What was remarkable was that in the end the directors credit reads - A Film by Anup Das and Crew.
