Verdict - A sweet entertainer which will ensure you walk out with a glow !

Sui DhaagaWatch trailerRelease date : September 28, 2018

The first thing that will stay with you after watching Sui Dhaaga is the warmth and sweetness of the couple called Mamta and Mauji. The chemistry between the two is wonderful and is driven with such subtle maturity by director Sharat Kataria.
The movie is the story of a dreamer and happy go lucky Mauji who is thankful for his circumstances and keeps saying badhiya hai even when faced with tough circumstances. It is through his dreaming and never say die that an entire family and a colony which gets devastated because tailoring is hit by readymade clothes find its redemption. Sure some of you might find the climax slightly indigestible but then this movie is about hope being stronger than facts.
This movie is also a little about why bitterness and violence should not be allowed to win and the director drives that message through subtle moments about how two fighting brothers just bury the hatchet just like that. How a cynic father decides to help his son and become his support.
This movie has some very well written comedy moments too like mamta’s hand still being stuck in the pickle jar when the mother in law is in hospital.
The most endearing part of Sui Dhaaga is its performances. Varun Dhawan is brilliant as Mauji and within 20 minutes of the movie you are with Dhawan in his pains, happiness and moments of joy. Anushka as Mamta is sincere and in some scenes like where she tries to get the sewing machine of her husband back she is brilliant. Raghubir Yadav is the show stopper as the cynical father and characters like Palte Ram are very nicely written.
This movie could remind you of any low income group society or colony in India. Where people turn petty and large hearted in moments. They Fight and the come together. This movie is in some way a nice story written around human goodness.
Sui Dhaaga can surprise you and entertain you if you walk in with expectations in check. Surely recommended as a family watch.
