Verdict - A fun take on a story we've all heard before.

The Legend of TarzanWatch trailerRelease date : July 01, 2016

Everybody knows the tale of Tarzan, born in the jungle, and friend of the wildlife. Well, Here's a remake and for the most part, it's good. Stunning vistas and some truly magical colour tones only serve to highlight the impressive CGI. This gritty adaption of a children's tale is definitely a feast for the eyes.

Tarzan, now living in England with Jane is now a Lord, with little to show of his jungle days in his demeanour. He's invited back to the congo by George Washington Williams, who believes Belgium, under the rule of King Leopold is introducing slavery in the Congo. He wants Tarzan to investigate and put a stop to this. Once there, Tarzan discovers that an old enemy has a score to settle with him, and meddled with forces he does not understand to do so.

Alexander Skarsgard makes an excellent Tarzan. He effortlessly transitions between a man of the jungle and a Lord throughout the movie. Margot Robbie is solid as Jane, but her character isn't particularly memorable. Samuel Jackson does a great job as George Washington Williams but again, his character feels rather shoehorned in. Tarzan may not fit the politically correct bill in today's overly sensitive environment, but as an adventure it's still quite enjoyable. Go for it, but only if you're prepared to enjoy the movie for what it is, not what you expect it to be.
