Oscar-winning director Martin Scorsese, brings this time a psychological thriller Shutter Island based on the Dennis Lehane 2003 novel of the same name. Scorsese definitely is a master of surprise endings and he always does this job perfectly. In this flick as well he has told a proper tale before it reaches its twist. No matter how it turns out to be, you stay glued to your chairs and when the suspense is uncovered it makes a deeper impact on the audience. Rest I will let you discover on your own and will go on with synopsis. It begins with 2 U.S. Marshals, Teddy Daniels (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Chuck Aule (Mark Ruffalo), sent to investigate the mysterious disappearance of a murderess from the barren island's hospital for the criminally insane located off the cost of Massachusetts. Ashecliffe, is known for its tight security due to which the most dangerous criminals are found here. Slowly and steadily the story uncovers itself and all the pieces fall right in place by the end. In short, movie answers all the required questions and most of the question which will linger in your mind throughout the movie will not be the ones to be asked. For me, Scorsese has been at its best in this one and used his forte i.e. visual style, to the max. Di Caprio darker shade has given a new color to the movie. Teddy Daniels' body language speaks about his high-blood pressure and binge drinking. Yu will always see him sweaty and disturbed. All these small effects makes this flick more real and believable. It is thought-provoking and full of mysteries at every turn and even when you will leave the theatre the impact of it will be seen on your face for quite sometime.
