Bham Bholenath is a pretender of a thriller. In other words, it is like the guy who thinks wearing frames makes him look like a nerd. Bham Bholenath, directed by Karthik Varma Dandu is in the lines of Swamy Ra Ra and Paisa. The reason I pick this comparison is to explore why some movies are good and some aren't, no matter what the filmmakers themselves feel about the product that they offer. The story of Bham Bholenath would make sense, if we were told that the entire story is taking place within a 200-meter radius. What else explains the fact that amazing coincidences keep happening throughout the movie.

True, thrillers of this nature, survive on coincidences. But, to this extent that there is a guy handing you car keys exactly when you need them and then a car with open doors, exactly when you have met with an accident and have to flee and then all the three separate groups involved in the story finding each other. More often than not, the crooks in the story are not sharp or even smart. Take the case of Naveen Chandra's character, who steals a diamond worth a lot using a road-side peddler or the other group(two guys constantly high without telling you where they get their money from with two girl friends, who are perpetually pissed off but still hang around with them) that is ready to spend 5 lac rupees to get out of crimes which they are not even sure they have been caught for. Around all this is a seemingly brilliant guy (Navdeep) and his ever-hungry friend who choose to take a loan of 2 lacs from the most dangerous money-lender in the city(a Raghuvaran wannabe with a similar voice dubbing) and end up losing it, in a phone booth. At best, this movie, apparently coming from the shed of Kartikeya makers, could be called 'the story of an infinite stupidities' because it is the stupidity of one character that takes us to the next phase of the story. All that because, the makers wanted to create a thriller with a sensational sounding voice-over in the trailer, without the ideas that help build a thriller, ideas that are smart and give the audience the experience of watching something surprising. Take this as a sample, a guy whose hands and feet are tied and has been stashed in the car dicky comes out hopping, gets hit by another car in full speed and falls in the bushes and then gets up without a scratch. That should tell you what to expect from the movie, that wasted couple of decent actors in Navdeep and Naveen Chandra.
